A Same Sex Wedding in Lake Como at Villa Lario (but make it fashion)

Errol and William’s wedding was one of a kind – in every possible way.
From our very first connection, we knew we were in for a great time and that we were about to capture a truly unique celebration.

Starting with the wedding location: Villa Lario, a gorgeous all-suite property right in the heart of Lake Como.

Three days of events, three completely different themes (yes, we had the time of our lives choosing outfits for every single one), all perfectly reflecting Errol and William’s personalities – the first a Philippines-born model coach, the latter an LA-based business accountant. So yes: let’s get married; but make it fashion.

On day one, the couple hosted a welcome pasta party with a Talented Mr Ripley theme. Vintage Italian music, a pasta bar, and guests channeling their best Matt Damon–Jude Law (or Andrew Scott, for the youngest) personas made for the coolest possible informal get-together, all while enjoying the first Lake Como sunset.

Day two was the big one, with the celebration starting late in the afternoon.

This is literally how the day unfolded for us: we arrived at Villa Lario mid-afternoon as BluNotte and Figli dei Fiori were setting up the ceremony space. A spectacular mix of mirrors, white florals, disco balls, and silver balloons was coming together while Queen blasted through the speakers. Yes, this is absolutely our kind of event.

We then joined William and Errol in their room, where they were getting ready together. Their matching wedding suits were designed by Michael Cinco – a dear friend of the couple – inspired by ancient Roman gods, but with a futuristic twist. The style for day two was, in fact, “Royal Opulence, but modern/futuristic,” and their outfits set the tone immediately. We styled Errol’s incredible gold-on-white embroidered cape with the classical male torso statue in the villa’s greenhouse – that cape had its whole (well-deserved) moment.

They were dressed by Michael Cinco and his team, before heading out for portraits on a water taxi, while guests enjoyed welcome cocktails (and their own dedicated portrait sessions – because of course).

The ceremony shifted the mood into something deeply emotional and personal, but the daylight fireworks at the end brought us all right back to part-ay mode.

After a second portrait session, it was time for a high-cuisine Italian dinner, accompanied by heartfelt speeches and flowing champagne. The night party followed the disco-ball theme, and we danced the night away with the couple and their guests.

To close the weekend – and to celebrate the beginning of Pride Month! – the couple hosted a final brunch and pool party themed Italian Riviera / La Dolce Vita.

The perfect ending to a simply fantastic weekend.
