There are few places in the world where dawn feels truly cinematic. Venice is one of them. When the city slowly wakes – shutters opening, the lagoon reflecting the first pale light, footsteps echoing through empty calli – it feels as though time itself is holding its breath.

Alice and Ryan wanted their pre-wedding session to feel distinctive: fashion-forward and playful, a little bold, yet undeniably timeless. The kind of imagery that feels editorial but still deeply romantic. Venice at sunrise was the only answer.

We began just as the sky softened over Piazza San Marco. At that hour the square belongs almost entirely to the light, the marble, and the sound of water moving through the canals. The early wake-up call was more than worth it: the sun rising over the basilica wrapped the couple in that golden, unmistakable Venetian glow – soft, luminous, and impossibly elegant.

From there, we stepped inside the quiet grandeur of Ca’ Sagredo Hotel. Wandering through its frescoed halls felt like stepping into a living painting. Alice’s look – chic, modern, and a little daring – contrasted beautifully with the ornate interiors, creating the perfect balance between contemporary fashion and centuries-old Venetian opulence.

Then came one of our favorite moments of the morning: a water taxi ride through the canals. Sunglasses on, wind in their hair, laughter echoing across the water – the kind of spontaneous joy that makes a shoot come alive.

Our final stop brought us across the lagoon to San Giorgio Maggiore. With its sweeping views back toward the Venetian skyline, it gave the session a final, cinematic note. The city stretching behind them, the light now bright and clear, Alice and Ryan looked effortlessly at home in this dreamlike setting.
