Persian Wedding in Lake Como

An overflow of pastel colors for this stunning Lake Como Wedding

The most beautiful late-summer palette for this romantic American-Persian Wedding in Lake Como

Roxanne and Nicholas, from the States to the Lake with their friends and family for a weekend celebration of love, fun, modernity, and tradition! With a unique color palette of rusty blush and baby blue matching the colors of Villa Aura del Lago in Bellagio, plus a wall of flowers to frame their Sofreh Aghd (the traditional wedding ceremony spread of the Iranian tradition), this wedding was nothing short of fabulous. Enjoy!

Rusty blush and baby blue for a stunning Persian Wedding in Lake Como

Roxanne and Nicholas’s American Persian wedding in Lake Como was a mesmerizing fusion of cultures, where the elegance of Western tradition intertwined seamlessly with the rich heritage of Persian customs. Born and raised in the States, the couple’s union symbolized a beautiful harmony of their backgrounds.

The couple’s attention to detail, aided by the expert hand of the wedding planner Georgia Louise Brescia, was evident from the very first moments we spent with them. We loved their color palette and details, matching the aesthetic of Villa Aura del Lago perfectly while being unique and unexpected: baby blue, rusty blush, from the invitation suite to the Veneziana terrazzo floors of the villa.

The emotion was evident and filled the air of both Roxanne’s and Nick’s getting ready, both with their closest friends – we loved to witness and share those moments with them, a warm-up to what was about to come.

The bride and groom had their first look at the staircase in the garden of the Villa, just before the guests arrived: it’s such a lovely moment and can definitely take some pre-wedding anxiety away. Another amazing first look was the one between Roxanne and her father – everyone (us included!) shed a little tear!

Their late summer afternoon ceremony at Villa Aura del Lago was a beautiful mix of Western traditions (with vows and the exchange of rings) with Persian ones. Instead of an arc, they had a wall of flowers and greeneries framing their Sofreh. Their wedding ceremony included traditional Persian rituals right from their position. The couple sat at the head of three ceremonial tables covered with items that were meant to bless the newlywed and then received the Sugar Veil blessing ceremony, in which a lace cloth was spread over their heads and two large sugar cones slowly rubbed together symbolizing the sweetening of the couples’ life. Then, they exchanged vows and rings – their ceremony send-off was simply picture-perfect!

After the ceremony, while the guests were enjoying a very Italian aperitivo, we jumped on a water taxi and were able to capture some couple shots at sunset – one of the most beautiful, gold-and-rose tinted sunsets we have ever seen.

Their wedding dinner took place al fresco in front of the lake – two long imperial tables were decorated with flowers, vases, and napkins matching the color scheme and the sunset light made it even more special.

The night party wasn’t shy of fun and entertainment, from the music of Blunotte to the electric violin of – the one and only – Victor Angelov. A great party, and great fun – we loved every moment of it.
