The iconic city vibe of a downtown wedding in Florence

The city of Florence is simply majestic, with its streets carrying the stories of hundreds of years. It’s a city that amazes you in every corner – the city of Dante, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and so many other pieces of Italian history – but it’s also the city of Antico Vinaio, rooftop bars, and wine tours!

All these pieces blended wonderfully into Alan and Lily’s wedding. Held into two of the most iconic and classical landmarks of Florence – the Grand Hotel Cavour and the splendid Palazzo Borghese, merging the beautiful classics with a contemporary twist (and even with a walk around the city at night, and smooches into the Foto Automatica!)

Words can’t describe their love and romance, but maybe photos can – enjoy!

When someone thinks about Tuscany and about weddings, the countryside is usually the first and most automatic thought – and while this makes sense (I mean, the Tuscan countryside is some of the most spectacular sceneries on Earth), the cities of Tuscany aren’t any less beautiful. Florence, Firenze, above all of the, – the beautiful capital of Tuscany is also home to some amazing wedding venues and wedding days!

My day with Lily and Allan started walking the streets of Florence with the groom – he got ready with his friends at Palazzo Borghese, and I was enchanted by its baroque interiors, perfectly matching Allan’s perfectly tailored black tie.
A few steps down the street and I was back at Lily’s gorgeous suite inside the Grand Hotel Cavour: the deep jewel tones of the room were simply a perfect background. Lily wore a classic, timeless Justin Alexander dress that could not have been a better pick – both to match her ethereal beauty and the aesthetic of the event!

Lily and Allan tied the knot in a romantic ceremony officiated by one of the couple’s closest friends in the majestically baroque golden hall of Palazzo Borghese. To follow, we walked the streets of Florence for some couple portraits, and I loved to incorporate the vibrance of the city, its people, and tourists.

Once we got back to the Palazzo, we headed to the Galleria Monumentale for the dinner party. A sumptuous imperial table, lit by candlelight and dim chandeliers, gave a spectacular atmosphere I adored!

A dance party followed – it was so fun to see the monumental gallery change its colors, from candle-lit to bright neon.
To close off the night, Lily and Allan danced a last dance on Mandonna’s Like a Prayer: a unique ending to their wedding party, but not to our wedding night… Indeed, Lily slipped on a party dress and we walked the streets of Florence, with Allan’s jacket on her back, for some fun night-time portraits, and some last shots at the Foto Automatica, of course.
The end of it all was back where I had started, in front of the Duomo di Firenze – this time, with just me, Lily, Allan, and the cool spring breeze.
