A Chic Venice Affair: Armenian Wedding in Venice

From the United States to the intricate, romantic chaos of Venice: welcome to Amy and Anthony’s wedding! More than just a wedding ceremony, their Venice experience was a fusion of traditions, with the couple choosing to tie the knot in a traditional Armenian Christian style at the historic San Lazzaro degli Armeni monastery.

The monastery is located on a private island, called – indeed – San Lazzaro degli Armeni: it’s one of the most ancient Armenian establishments in Europe, hosting a small Armenian community since the Seventeenth century.

Before their big day, Luisa and Silvia captured their love in a pre-wedding photo shoot against the stunning backdrop of Venice. A flowy pink dress, a stroll around the tiny streets and all the beauty of the iconic city were the perfect ingredients for this shoot.

At the beautiful Ca Sagredo, Amy and Anthony got ready for the main event. Surrounded by the grandeur of Venetian architecture and breathtaking views, excitement filled the air as they prepared to say “I do.” Nerves danced alongside anticipation, but as they shared their first look, all worries melted away, leaving only the pure essence of their love.

After a water taxi ride, they got to San Lazzaro degli Armeni together with their parents. There, they had their formal religious ceremony: an ancient ritual lightened by the soft glow of candlelight, the coronation ceremony, and the celebration of their love being a part of a longstanding tradition.

A final dress change, and they had their final couple shoot – celebrating love at sunset in San Giorgio, overlooking San Marco and its grandiosity.
